- The project is located approximately 65 kms east of Oodnadatta and lies within the Peake and Denison geological domain on the north eastern margin of the Gawler Craton.
- Intrusives within the Peake and Denison inlier include the Wirriecurrie Granite which is a foliated, porphyritic granite, adamellite, granodiorite and augen gneiss.
- Overlying to a depth of 250m are Jurassic-Cretaceous sediments of the Great Artesian Basin (GAB).
- The Toby IOCGU target is a major regional gravity anomaly, with associated, but not coincident, magnetic anomalies.
- The image below is a reduced to pole magnetic intensity image with residual Bouguer gravity anomaly contours.

- Drill hole TB02 completed in August 2009 reached a depth of 670.8m in kaolinised granite and tested the western gravity anomaly. Further drilling is proposed at TB03 on the eastern gravity/magnetic anomaly.
